Recreated from original Motown units owned by eight-time Grammy-winning producer and mix engineer Michael Brauer, the Heritage Audio MOTORCITY Equalizer delivers the unmistakable punch, warmth, and musicality that defined an era of hits. Every detail has been faithfully reproduced, from the 10-gauge brushed aluminum faceplate and custom-molded bakelite knobs to the historically accurate control layout.

At its core lies a completely analog, passive EQ circuit, identical to the original Motown design. With seven fixed frequency points (50 Hz, 130 Hz, 320 Hz, 800 Hz, 2 kHz, 5 kHz, and 12.5 kHz), each band offers stepped control from flat to ±8 dB in precise 1 dB increments. A master gain control provides an additional ±8 dB of adjustment, while a simple in/out/off toggle with jewel light indicator completes the front-panel simplicity.

Unlike slider-style graphic EQs, the MOTORCITY uses authentic rotary switches with classic “General Radio” bakelite knobs, true to the 1960s originals. The rear panel stays equally faithful—just an XLR input and output, and a PSU jack for the included 48V supply.

The result is an EQ that packs power and presence without harshness, offering a tone so authentic it stands as the only true rival to the legendary Pultec. This is not a digital emulation or a modernized take—it is a spec-for-spec recreation of the Motown classic, finally made available outside of Hitsville USA.
