Tonelux JC37 Tube condenser microphone

The Tonelux JC37 is Joe Chiccarelli’s modern interpretation of the classic Sony C37a concept, created to capture the same distinctive character and practical studio appeal in a present-day production microphone.

At its core is a vacuum tube circuit, a 37mm single-diaphragm capsule, and transformer-balanced output, staying true to the essential spirit of the original design. Rather than adding multiple switches for pattern, impedance, EQ, or level, the JC37 keeps things simpler, with a cleaner signal path and a more straightforward workflow.

The microphone features an integrated three-meter cable, much like the original-style mounting approach, and connects to the Tonelux Universal Microphone Power Supply. The PSU can power two microphones, making the JC37 equally suitable for stereo applications. The supplied case is designed with this in mind, with space for two microphones and the power supply.

A distinctive tube condenser with vintage inspiration, the JC37 offers a focused cardioid response, solid transformer depth, and a design aimed at engineers who value character over excess complexity.
