Originally introduced in 1973 as the successor to the MV 690, the MV 691 is a transformer-coupled FET microphone amplifier and a key component of the SMS 70 (Studio Microphone System) series. Designed without a feedback circuit, it delivers a clean and natural signal path. The MV 691 was developed by Siegfried Thiersch, then an engineer at Gefell (RTF VEB MTG), in collaboration with the RFZ Berlin.
This set includes:
• MV 691 microphone body
• M70 small-diaphragm #18892 Cardioid Nickel Capsule.
• N691 external dual power supply and cables
A classic system known for its rich tone and historical significance in East German studio engineering.
